Chennai, November 27, 2024: President Droupadi Murmu commenced her four-day visit to Tamil Nadu, engaging in a series of official and ceremonial events. The President’s itinerary began with her arrival in Chennai, where she was welcomed with traditional honors. Her visit focuses on key engagements emphasizing education, defense, and social development in the region.
On November 28, President Murmu will visit the Defense Services Staff College in Wellington, Coonoor. She is scheduled to address military officers and trainees, highlighting the importance of training and preparedness in national defense. Following this engagement, she will return to Raj Bhavan in Chennai for an overnight stay.
As part of her tour, President Murmu will interact with tribal communities in Udhagamandalam (Ooty) on November 29. This interaction aims to promote inclusive development and discuss initiatives supporting tribal welfare. The visit underscores the government’s commitment to integrating marginalized communities into the nation’s development efforts.
The President’s visit will conclude on November 30 at the Central University of Tamil Nadu in Tiruvarur. She will preside over the 9th convocation ceremony, conferring degrees and recognizing exceptional students for their academic achievements.
