Rajya Sabha Adjourned Amid Uproar Over Adani Allegations and Manipur Violence

New Delhi, November 27, 2024: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day following chaotic scenes as opposition parties demanded discussions on key issues, including allegations of fraud and bribery involving the Adani Group and the Manipur violence. The uproar began early in the session, with opposition leaders calling for immediate debates, leading to multiple disruptions before the session was ultimately suspended.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the opposition, accusing them of obstructing parliamentary proceedings for political gain. He emphasized the importance of constructive debates in Parliament, particularly as the winter session coincides with the 75th anniversary of India’s Constitution.

The winter session, which commenced on November 25, is expected to witness intense debates as opposition parties continue to press the government on contentious topics, including governance and corruption allegations. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha was also adjourned until the following day amidst similar disruptions.
