Nadda Slams Kharge’s Letter on Manipur Violence, Accuses Congress of Politicizing Issue

NEW DELHI: BJP President J.P. Nadda has strongly criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent letter to President Droupadi Murmu, which addressed the ongoing violence in Manipur. Nadda accused the Congress of attempting to sensationalize the issue, claiming that the opposition party was distorting the facts surrounding the violence. He suggested that the current ethnic unrest in Manipur could be traced back to unresolved issues from Congress’s tenure in power, implying that their governance failures were partly responsible for the crisis.

In his response, Nadda’s letter aimed to shift the focus on the Congress, accusing them of politicizing the sensitive situation. He emphasized that the current government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was working to resolve the matter and bring peace to the region. He further criticized Kharge for what he called an incorrect portrayal of the situation, claiming that it was politically motivated.

Congress has vehemently rejected Nadda’s claims, dismissing them as a diversionary tactic to deflect attention from the real issues in Manipur. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh condemned Nadda’s letter, labeling it a series of falsehoods designed to mislead the public. He stressed that the true concerns of the people of Manipur were the absence of effective leadership and the ongoing instability in the region, calling on the government to take immediate action.

Ramesh also demanded that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah address the crisis directly, urging them to provide solutions to restore peace and order in Manipur. The Congress party continues to press for a more effective response from the government, criticizing its handling of the violence and the overall situation in the state.
