Bijnor: A tragic accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district claimed the lives of seven people, including a newlywed couple, on Saturday morning. The accident occurred on the Dehradun-Nainital National Highway in the Dhampur area, when the speeding car they were traveling in crashed into a goods vehicle. Two other people sustained injuries in the incident.
The victims, including the couple who had just married in Jharkhand on Sunday evening, were heading back to their home in Tibri village, Bijnor. Due to dense fog reducing visibility, their car, a Creta, collided with a tempo on NH-74. The force of the crash caused both vehicles to tumble into a nearby ditch.
Among the deceased were the newlywed couple, identified as Khurshid (65), Vishal (25), his wife Khushi (22), Mumtaz (45), Ruby (32), and Bushra (10). The injured individuals, Sohail Alvi and Aman, were rushed to a nearby community health center for medical treatment.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. He extended condolences to the victims’ families and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured. The CM also instructed district officials to provide prompt medical care and expedite relief efforts for those affected.
