Vijayawada CP Rajasekhar Babu on Goutham Reddy’s Alleged Conspiracy:
YSRCP leader and former FiberNet Corporation Chairman, Goutham Reddy, is under investigation for allegedly conspiring to murder landowner Umamaheswar Shastri. He is accused of illegally acquiring land using forged documents and engaging in protracted legal disputes. Reddy is currently absconding, and police are intensifying their efforts to track him down.
Vijayawada Commissioner of Police, Rajasekhar Babu, confirmed that the investigation has uncovered evidence suggesting Reddy planned a contract killing to gain control of valuable land. He also revealed that Reddy faces 43 criminal charges, including murder, and had previously been listed in the rowdy sheet, though the reasons for its closure are being reviewed. The police chief assured that all ongoing cases against Reddy would be thoroughly investigated. He made these remarks during a media briefing in Vijayawada.
In response to the allegations, the police have formed two specialized task force teams to aid the investigation. Complaints indicate that Reddy used forged documents to manipulate land ownership, prompting legal action on behalf of the affected landowner, Umamaheswar Shastri. Police are currently searching for five individuals linked to the case. Special teams have apprehended four suspects, and efforts continue to locate one more individual, Anil, who is connected to calls made by someone named Prithviraj. The police are gathering technical evidence to support the investigation and have confirmed that they are probing the alleged conspiracy to murder the landowner. As more details come to light, the collected evidence will be presented in court. The Commissioner warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in illegal activities, especially rowdyism.
More Than 50 Cases Registered for Social Media Offenses:
In addition to the ongoing investigation, Rajasekhar Babu addressed the misuse of social media. He stated that over 50 cases have been filed against individuals involved in posting obscene content. He condemned the use of social media to defame others, calling it an unethical practice, and made it clear that the police would not tolerate such behavior.
