Ranchi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday accused the JMM-led coalition in Jharkhand of turning the state into a ‘dharmshala’ (resting place) for Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators. Speaking at an election rally in Bhawnathpur, Garhwa, Adityanath claimed that these groups have been given free rein to spread anarchy and disrupt peace. He urged voters to support a “double-engine government” in Jharkhand, similar to the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, to counter mafias, stone-pelters, and those who cause disturbances during festivals.
Adityanath warned against division among the people, saying, “Batenge to katenge, ek rahenge to safe rahege” (If divided, we will be wiped out; if united, we will remain safe). He accused the JMM-led administration of fostering corruption, promoting anarchy, and facilitating the exploitation of natural resources. Referring to the Soren family, along with political families in Patna and Delhi, he alleged that these families have used public resources for personal gain.
Highlighting the plight of the people under the current regime, Adityanath claimed that natural resources are being plundered, forcing laborers to migrate out of the state and leading some farmers to commit suicide. He advocated for a “double-engine government” to enforce stricter measures, saying it could “send stone-pelters and mafias to Yamraj’s home,” a metaphor for bringing them to justice.
Adityanath further alleged that under the JMM regime, festivals cannot be celebrated peacefully. He emphasized that the BJP is the only party capable of ensuring national security, protecting women’s rights, and providing employment for youth. The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly election is scheduled for November 13 and 20, with vote counting to take place on November 23.
