AP Vocational Skills Training: The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) is focusing on vocational training to address the employment opportunities in the sector, especially for the 11 million unemployed individuals with below-degree qualifications in the state. Despite starting salaries being lower than other jobs, there is a significant demand for skilled workers in fields like electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry due to growth in the real estate sector.
Training programs are being conducted in collaboration with organizations like the Revolutionary Organization, offering electrician training in Vijayawada and expanding to Kandukur soon.
Vocational training lasts between 2 to 3 weeks, providing participants with modern toolkits. Free accommodation and meals are offered during the training. The program aims to create 7,000 jobs annually and will be rolled out in 10 locations across Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the Shree Sinages organization is providing training for non-graduates to enhance local job opportunities in DTP and signage fabrication, beginning in flood-affected areas of Vijayawada. Each batch will accommodate 30 trainees, partnering with nearby signage companies for job placements.
