AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme Updates

Good news for the people of Andhra Pradesh as the government has announced the implementation of the Super Six scheme. The booking for free gas cylinders, set to be launched as a Diwali gift, started today. From 10 AM, consumers began lining up at gas agencies for bookings. This scheme will provide three free cylinders annually, once every four months.

Bookings for the first cylinder for the months of November, December, January, February, and March have commenced today. The government has decided to deliver cylinders across Andhra Pradesh starting from October 31. There are 15.5 million gas connections in the state. To avail of this scheme, the government suggests submitting an LPG connection, a white ration card, and an Aadhaar card.

    Free Gas Cylinder Bookings Start

Beneficiaries will receive a brief message on their phones confirming their cylinder booking. The government has already held discussions with HPCIL, Indian Oil, and Bharat Petroleum companies to ensure that gas cylinders are delivered within 48 hours of booking. Cash will be credited to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries within 48 hours from the moment the cylinder is delivered. Additionally, the state government has issued orders to transfer ₹895 crores to oil companies. The cash will be provided to the Department of Civil Supplies under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.

Beneficiaries can receive their first free gas cylinder from October 31 until March 31, 2025. The second phase will be from April 1 to July 30, the third phase from August 1 to November 31, and the fourth phase from December 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. The government estimates that the three free gas cylinder scheme will cost ₹2,684 crores. Arrangements have been made to deliver cylinders within 24 hours in urban areas and within 48 hours in rural areas.

    Chandrababu to Launch Scheme Tomorrow

This scheme is expected to benefit 14 million people. Despite financial difficulties, Chief Minister Chandrababu has decided to implement this scheme as promised during the elections. On Wednesday, he will personally deliver the first cylinder in Srikakulam district.
