    Maharashtra Assembly Elections: BJP Releases 4th List of Candidates

    BJP Announces Additional Candidates and Seat Allocation for Maharashtra Assembly Elections

    Mumbai, Oct 29 (PTI) – On the last day of filing nomination papers, the BJP announced two more candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, taking its total count of nominees to 148.

    As per the latest list, former MLA Narendra Mehta will contest from the Mira Bhayandar constituency in Thane district, while Sudhir Parwe has been nominated for the Umred (SC) constituency in Nagpur district.

    Elections for the 288-member Maharashtra assembly are scheduled for November 20, with counting of votes set for November 23. The BJP will contest these elections as part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which also includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde‘s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar‘s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

    In addition, the BJP has allocated four assembly seats to its allies:

    1. Badnera seat in Amravati district to the Yuva Swabhiman Party
    2. Gangakhed seat in Parbhani district to the Rashtriya Samaj Party (RSP)
    3. Kalina seat in Mumbai to the Republican Party of India (Athawale)
    4. Shahuwadi seat in Kolhapur district to the Jan Surajya Shakti Party

    For the Nanded Lok Sabha bypoll, necessitated by the death of senior Congress leader Vasant Chavan in August, the BJP has fielded Dr. Santuk Marotrao Hambarde from Nanded. He will compete against Congress candidate Ravindra Chavan, son of the late Vasant Chavan.
