CENTRAL GOVT FUNDS FOR AP ROADS:
The Central Government has sanctioned ₹252.42 crore for the development of roads in Andhra Pradesh. The funds are allocated specifically for the construction of a 6-lane elevated corridor at Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district. This funding approval was announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on platform ‘X’.
The elevated corridor is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the region, providing smoother transit for commuters and improving the overall connectivity between key towns in Srikakulam. The project is part of a larger initiative to enhance road infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh, which aims to boost regional economic activities and facilitate faster transportation of goods.
The development of this corridor aligns with the broader vision of the Central Government to improve road connectivity in various states, ensuring efficient travel and reducing travel time for long-distance commuters. It will also help in attracting more investments to the region by offering better logistics support. The construction of the elevated corridor is expected to create local employment opportunities and support infrastructure development in Srikakulam district.
