New Delhi: The Delhi Court on Monday, October 7 granted bail to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav in the land-for-job-scam case.
A bench by Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted relief to the accused individuals on a personal bond of Rs one lakh each, noting that they were not arrested during the police investigation.
The accused individuals appeared before the court in pursuance of a summon issued to them by the court earlier.
Tejashwai Yadasv said, “They keep indulging in political conspiracy. They misuse agencies. There is nothing concrete in this case. Our victory is certain…”
The judge had earlier issued them summons after taking cognisance of the supplementary charge sheet against the accused leaders.
The report on the case was filed before by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 6. The investigative agency later filed its case based on an FIR lodged by the CBI.
The case pertains to Group-D appointments made in West Central Zone of the railways based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh during Prasad’s tenure as railway minister from 2004 to 2009 in return for land parcels gifted or transferred by the recruits in the name of the RJD supremo’s family or associates, the ED said.
