Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has been a hot topic since its release in December 2023. The film was a huge success, earning ₹900 crore and becoming the highest-grossing A-rated movie. At the recent IIFA Awards 2024 in Abu Dhabi, Animal won the Best Film award. Following this, Fighter director Siddharth Anand shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), igniting a huge online discussion. Now joining the buzz an online user praised Rashmika’s performance in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
Siddharth Anand calls Sandeep Vanga’s Animal ‘Best Film Of The Year’
It began with a post shared by filmmaker Siddharth Anand on his X (formerly Twitter) account where he expressed that the best director’s award should go to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. On Monday, September 30, he wrote, “For me, the film of the year & the Director of the year? ANIMAL.” This followed Animal winning the Best Film award, while Jawan and Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway won the best male and female awards.
Since Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal was a controversial film, many were surprised by Siddharth’s praising comment. One user commented, “Bro casually addressing Vanga as Animal,” in response to his post. However, many users defended the filmmaker, with one saying, “Yes, all the awards should go to Animal.”
Rashmika gets praised for her performance in Animal
However, one user’s comment caught everyone’s attention. A user identified as Jatinder reposted Siddharth Anand’s post, praising Rashmika’s performance in the movie. A user posted, writing, “Best director, film and actor is something that many have said but I think Rashmika was also the best actor female. It’s a shame she was trolled by the internet due to that scene, but she was, in fact, brilliant in that.” This comment quickly went viral.
Rashmika Mandanna noticed the post and jokingly replied, “I just saw this.. thanks man.. I thought no one else outside our film gang would say this..” The post continues to make waves online. For the unversed, Animal follows the story of a ruthless son of a powerful industrialist and his complicated relationship with his father. After its release, the characters Zoya (Triptii Dimri) and (Geetanjali)Rashmika Mandanna from Animal, referred to as ‘Bhabhi 1’ and ‘Bhabhi 2,’ received considerable buzz, with Triptii Dimri’s scenes overshadowing Rashmika’s performance.
