Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankr starring 12th Fail is one of the most successful films of 2023 and still receiving a lot of love and appreciation from everyone. The movie, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, tells the inspiring story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and his IRS inspector wife, Shraddha Joshi. In the recent IIFA Awards 2024, he received the Best Director award for 12th Fail. Following this achievement, the filmmaker has announced that the film’s prequel will be released at the end of this year.
12th Fail’s director announces the film’s prequel titled Zero Se Shuruwat
Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra attended the IIFA Awards 2024 with his wife, Anupama Chopra, where he made a surprise announcement of his next film. The 12th Fail director revealed that the prequel to Vikrant Massey’s film will be titled Zero Se Shuruwat, with a theatrical release set for December 13.
Shikara‘s director confirmed that the original cast would return for the prequel. He also discussed whether he plans to submit 12th Fail for consideration at the Oscars or not.
During the media interaction, he stated, “I am not an award fellow. I’m here at IIFA because of my wife, Anupama. I’m actually just accompanying her today. For me, the most important thing—the real award—is when you make a film and, after watching it, you can either say, ‘Ah, I nailed it,’ or admit, ‘That didn’t quite work.’”
Vikrant Massey’s 12th Fail Screened At Supreme Court
On September 25, the makers of the biographical film 12th Fail held a special screening at the Supreme Court of India. This initiative was to provide the opportunity to connect with an audience that strongly relates to the film’s inspiring message, which highlights the journeys of individuals striving to overcome obstacles and realise their dreams.
The Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud also attended the screening, accompanied by judges, over 600 Supreme Court officials, and their families. Directed, produced, and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film is inspired by Anurag Pathak’s 2019 non-fiction book about Manoj Kumar Sharma, who won over severe poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. 12th Fail is currently available on Disney+ Hotstar.
