New Delhi, May 31, 2025 – Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister of Power, Manohar Lal, met Major Ashish Dahiya, a valiant soldier from Haryana, at his residence in Delhi today. Major Dahiya, who is posted in the 50th Battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles, was recently conferred the prestigious Shaurya Chakra for his exceptional bravery and devotion to duty in counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister Manohar Lal lauded Major Dahiya’s heroic role in eliminating four terrorists and safely defusing multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during five high-risk operations in Pulwama. Calling him a “brave son of Haryana,” the Minister emphasized that Major Dahiya’s courage is a source of pride for the entire nation. He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the armed forces in safeguarding national security.
