Dehradun, May 19, 2025 – In a major crackdown on exam malpractice, Uttarakhand Police arrested 17 individuals for using Bluetooth-enabled devices during the Lab Attendant recruitment examination. The arrests were made across multiple exam centers following tip-offs and surveillance by the Special Task Force (STF). The candidates were reportedly using miniature Bluetooth earpieces and other concealed gadgets to receive answers from outside handlers.
The arrests have once again raised serious concerns over the integrity of government recruitment exams in the state. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely as the STF expands its probe to trace the source of the cheating network. The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) is expected to review the examination process and may consider re-conducting the test if widespread malpractice is confirmed.
