New Delhi ,April 24, 2025 — In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, India has announced tough diplomatic actions against Pakistan. Following a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, halted visas for Pakistani nationals, and shut down the Attari-Wagah border. All SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) visas for Pakistani citizens have been cancelled.
India also decided to reduce diplomatic staff in both countries to 30 by May 1 and declared all Pakistani military advisors in India as ‘Persona Non Grata’. Simultaneously, India will withdraw its own military attaches from Islamabad. Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is aiding the probe into the attack, as security forces intensify efforts to find those responsible.
