San Francisco, April 19, 2025: WhatsApp is testing a new message translation feature in its latest Android beta version 2.25.12.25. This feature enables users to translate chat messages and channel updates directly within the app, supporting languages like Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese (Brazil), Hindi, and Russian.
The translation process occurs entirely on the user’s device, preserving end-to-end encryption and ensuring privacy. Users can download specific language packs and manage them through the app’s storage settings. Currently, this feature is available to select beta testers and is expected to roll out to more users in the coming weeks.
