
Mumbai, April 12, 2025 – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has advocated for the establishment of a national memorial dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in New Delhi. Speaking at a gathering commemorating the 345th death anniversary of the Maratha king, Fadnavis emphasized the significance of honoring Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy at the national level .
The proposed memorial aims to recognize Shivaji Maharaj’s contributions to India’s history and culture. This initiative aligns with the Maharashtra government’s broader efforts to promote the Maratha warrior’s legacy across the country. Additionally, plans are underway to develop memorials and museums dedicated to Shivaji Maharaj in other states, with Agra being identified as the first location for such a project .
