Seoul, April 9, 2025: South Korea added 193,000 jobs in March compared to the same month last year, continuing its streak of employment growth for the third consecutive month. The total number of employed people rose to 28.59 million, with job gains seen mainly in public health, social welfare, and government-related sectors.
However, the construction and manufacturing industries saw sharp declines. Construction lost 185,000 jobs—its steepest drop since 2013—while manufacturing shed 112,000 jobs. Despite these sectoral setbacks, the growth in service-related areas helped sustain overall job momentum.
