Houston, April 7, 2025: NASA and Axiom Space have announced that Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) will launch by May 2025 from Kennedy Space Center. The 14-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS) features astronauts from India, Poland, and Hungary, each making their debut ISS mission. Led by veteran NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, the crew includes ISRO’s Shubhanshu Shukla, Poland’s Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, and Hungary’s Tibor Kapu.
Shukla, a Gaganyaan astronaut and Indian Air Force officer, will become the first Gaganyatri to reach space. His mission is expected to contribute significantly to India’s upcoming crewed space program, planned for 2026. Ax-4, delayed due to scheduling issues, will now launch aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.
