Bengaluru, April 5, 2025 – ISRO has confirmed the successful atmospheric re-entry of POEM-4, the repurposed upper stage of the PSLV-C60 mission, at 08:03 IST on April 4 over the Indian Ocean. Launched on December 30, 2024, POEM-4 followed the deployment of SPADEX satellites and was later de-orbited to a 350 km orbit as part of ISRO’s Debris Free Space Mission (DFSM) to reduce space junk.
The module hosted 24 payloads from ISRO and various non-governmental entities, all of which performed successfully. Tracked continuously by ISRO and the U.S. Space Command, POEM-4’s descent was accurately predicted and monitored by ISRO’s IS4OM system, highlighting India’s ongoing commitment to space sustainability.
