Seattle, April 4, 2025: Amazon is testing “Buy for Me,” an AI-powered feature in its shopping app that allows users to purchase products from third-party websites without leaving the platform. Currently in beta for select U.S. customers, this feature lets shoppers find eligible items labeled “Shop brand sites directly” and request Amazon to complete the purchase using encrypted payment details.
Powered by Amazon’s Nova AI and Anthropic’s Claude models, the feature automates transactions with minimal human involvement. While Amazon facilitates the purchase, brands handle delivery, returns, and customer support. Users can track their orders within the Amazon app, and the company plans to expand the service based on feedback.
