Amaravati, April 2, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government will issue new ration cards with advanced security features, resembling ATM cards, and equipped with QR codes for authentication. Minister Nadendla announced that the e-KYC deadline has been extended until April 30, after which new cards will be distributed to eligible beneficiaries.
As ration cards are essential for availing welfare schemes, the government is updating records to remove ineligible beneficiaries. All cardholders, except children under five, must complete e-KYC through E-Pos machines at ration shops or secretariat offices. The new cards will be issued in May, with no further extensions expected.
