    Amid this, Kangana Ranaut expressed concern regarding women’s safety in the film fraternity. At a media event in New Delhi, the actress made strong allegations against Bollywood actors.

    Heroes assault women, claims Kangana Ranaut

    At the News18 India Chaupal, Kangana accused ‘heroes’ of assaulting women by calling them home for dinners. She said, “Do you know how do these heroes assault women? They call them for dinners, message them, ask them to come home. Look at the Kolkata rape and murder case. Look at rape threats to me. We know that we do not respect women. The film industry is no different. College boys comment on females. Film heroes are no different. They are also like this. We know how a woman is treated at a workplace.”

    The Queen actress added, “Even Saroj Khan was once asked about rape and sexual assault in the film industry when she said, ‘Rape toh karte hai par roti bhi dete hai’. This is the situation of our daughters in this film industry.”

    For the unversed, the late choreographer Saroj Khan was asked about Telugu actor Sri Reddy’s protest against the casting couch at a press conference in 2018. She said, “Ek baat batau ye to chala aa raha hai baba adam ke zamane se. Har ladki ke upar koi na koi haath saaf karne ki koshish karta hai.Government karti hai. Government ke log karte hain to tum film industry ke peeche kyun pade ho? Wo to roti to bhi deti hai, rape karke chorr to nahi deti.
