Dehradun, March 8, 2025 – On International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stressed the crucial role of women in societal and national development. He highlighted that women’s empowerment is deeply rooted in Indian culture, where ‘Shakti’ (power) is revered, and women serve as guiding forces in society.
Dhami reaffirmed his government’s commitment to gender equality, citing initiatives like 30% reservation for women in government jobs and 33% in cooperative societies. He also noted the success of 100,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis,’ showcasing the state’s dedication to women’s financial and social upliftment.
