Ladakh, India, March 8, 2025 – On International Women’s Day, the Armed Forces honored Colonel Ponung Doming for leading the Border Roads Organisation’s (BRO) highest task force at 15,300 feet in Ladakh. She oversees key infrastructure projects, including the world’s highest motorable road at Umling La (19,024 feet) and a new road in the Chumar sector at 19,400 feet.
Colonel Doming emphasized discipline, unity, and fitness in the Army, inspiring young women to pursue their dreams with determination. Her journey reflects the growing role of women in defense, setting new benchmarks in the BRO.
