Amaravati Iconic Towers: AP Govt Resumes Work After 5-Year Halt

Amaravati, March 3, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government has resumed focus on the construction of Amaravati’s iconic towers, which were halted for five years. The CRDA has started efforts to restart work on the five towers, draining 0.06 TMC of water from the foundations and preparing for structural tests with IIT Madras experts to ensure stability.

Last year, experts confirmed the structures were intact but suggested treating rusted iron rods before proceeding. CRDA has now requested further testing, including physical inspections and core-cutting tests. The revised cost for the project has increased to ₹4,687 crore, and tenders are expected to be issued within ten days.
