Nagarkurnool, March 3, 2025: Rescue efforts continue for the eighth day to save eight workers trapped in the collapsed Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel. Around 300 personnel, including NDRF, SDRF, Indian Army, and Singareni teams, are involved in the mission, but the workers remain unaccounted for despite extensive efforts.
The operation faces challenges due to the tunnel’s complexity and a damaged 1,500-ton Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) blocking the path. Both the Telangana and Central governments have deployed top experts to assist, with officials remaining hopeful for a breakthrough soon.
