
New Delhi, February 24, 2025: Delhi’s eighth Legislative Assembly session began today, marking the BJP’s return to power after 27 years. The session commenced with the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected MLAs, overseen by Pro-tem Speaker Arvinder Singh Lovely. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is set to nominate Vijender Gupta as Speaker, with the election scheduled for later today.
The three-day session will include an address by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on February 25, followed by discussions on the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports. On February 26, deliberations on the motion of thanks will conclude with the election of the Deputy Speaker, shaping the legislative direction of the new BJP government in Delhi.
