
Amaravati, February 19, 2025: Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to take immediate steps to support chili farmers. He requested market intervention to compensate for falling prices and ensure fair returns for farmers. Naidu stressed the need to address the gap between production costs and selling prices.
In his letter, Naidu appealed for the Centre to bear 100% of farmers’ losses instead of the current 50% compensation. Highlighting the financial struggles of chili farmers in Andhra Pradesh, he also provided data on production and price trends over the past decade, emphasizing the urgency of government support.
