Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, February 19, 2025: Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced that Vice Chancellors in Andhra Pradesh will now be appointed solely on merit, ensuring a transparent and fair selection process. He criticized the previous regime for allowing political interference in higher education and emphasized that the NDA government’s reforms would promote academic excellence and social justice.
Naidu highlighted the historic appointment of Prof. Prasanna Sree Garu as the first ST woman Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry. Calling it a proud milestone, he congratulated all newly appointed Vice Chancellors and wished them success in advancing education and knowledge in the state.
