Dublin, February 18, 2025: The European Tibet Support Group (ETGE) has urged Ireland to oppose China’s genocidal and repressive actions, particularly in Tibet and Xinjiang. The group is calling on Ireland to align with global efforts to condemn China’s human rights abuses, including forced assimilation and cultural suppression of Tibetans and Uyghur Muslims.
ETGE’s appeal comes amid increasing international criticism of China’s treatment of minority groups. The organization is seeking Ireland’s support in advocating for sanctions and ensuring China is held accountable for its violations, giving a platform to the voices of the oppressed communities in Tibet and Xinjiang.
