Rajamahendravaram, February 18: Labor Minister Vasanmshetty Subhash criticized the behavior of certain doctors and staff at the ESI Hospital after a surprise inspection revealed absenteeism. The in-charge superintendent and three duty doctors were found missing, prompting the Minister to contact the Director and order memos for the absent doctors. He also instructed the removal of the in-charge superintendent from their position.
The Minister ordered action against the negligent staff following complaints that some doctors were engaging in private practice during duty hours. Despite past protests by unions and ESI members, no improvements were seen, and Minister Subhash expressed strong dissatisfaction with the hospital’s functioning.
