
New Delhi, February 14 – During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the US, India and the US agreed to enhance collaboration in higher education by exploring opportunities for offshore US university campuses in India and promoting student mobility. The leaders emphasized joint degree programmes, academic partnerships, and Centres of Excellence, highlighting the contribution of over 300,000 Indian students in the US to the US economy.
The discussions also focused on facilitating the movement of students, researchers, and professionals between the two countries, aiming to foster knowledge exchange and growth. Both nations committed to improving legal pathways for mobility and simplifying processes for short-term travel, while addressing concerns about illegal immigration and human trafficking.
