Israeli Soldiers Face War Crime Allegations Abroad Over Gaza Actions

Tel Aviv, February 11, 2025: Israeli soldiers traveling abroad face accusations of war crimes related to their actions in Gaza, with several countries taking legal action under the principle of universal jurisdiction. Notably, Yuval Vagdani, an Israeli army reservist, was forced to cut short his vacation in Brazil due to war crime allegations based on social media posts.

This growing trend has led to nearly 50 criminal complaints against Israeli soldiers in various countries, primarily based on photos and videos shared by the soldiers themselves. In response, Israel has introduced stricter regulations on soldiers’ social media use to limit the legal risks they face abroad.
