Ongole, February 7, 2025: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) appeared for questioning at the Ongole Rural Police Station regarding offensive social media posts. The case involves allegations that RGV posted morphed images and derogatory comments about political leaders, including Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh, during the promotion of his movie “Vyuha”, which supported the YSR Congress party before the elections.
The investigation started after a complaint from M. Ramalingam, the TDP’s chief secretary in Maddipadu. Though RGV initially failed to attend the questioning, citing a busy film schedule, he later filed a petition claiming the case was unjust. The High Court granted him bail but instructed him to cooperate with the police inquiry.
