
Los Angeles, February 7, 2025: Matthew McConaughey is set to star in The Lost Bus, a historical drama directed by Paul Greengrass. The film, produced by Comet Films and Blumhouse, is based on Lizzie Johnson’s book Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire. It tells the real-life story of a school bus driver and a teacher who risked their lives to rescue students during the devastating 2018 Camp Fire in California.
McConaughey will portray Kevin McKay, the heroic bus driver who played a crucial role in the rescue. The film is currently in pre-production, with studio negotiations underway. Greengrass, known for his intense and realistic storytelling, aims to bring this gripping survival drama to the big screen, highlighting the bravery and resilience of those who faced one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history.
