
Vijayawada, February 7, 2025: Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh emphasized the need to accelerate tourism development in Andhra Pradesh, calling for a strong branding strategy and increased publicity. During a review meeting at APIIC Building, he assessed major projects like Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota, pushed for district-wise tourism plans, and explored PPP model and CSR funding for infrastructure growth. He also proposed homestays at spiritual sites like Tirupati and improvements to Srisailam, Suryalanka, and Mypadu beaches.
Officials, including Principal Secretary Ajay Jain and MD Amrapali Kata, suggested initiatives like free wedding shoots, adventure sports, and local fishing experiences. Durgesh compared Andhra Pradesh’s tourism potential to Kerala and Rajasthan, urging stronger promotions. He also stressed the importance of hosting investor summits in Tirupati, other states, and abroad to attract funding and boost the tourism sector.
