New Delhi, February 6, 2025 – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2025 will take place on April 5, 2025, in pen-paper mode. Candidates seeking admission to class 6 must be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31, 2023, while class 9 candidates should be aged between 13 and 15 years as of March 31, 2025, and must have passed class 8 from a recognized school. Girls are only eligible for class 6 admissions.
The AISSEE offers students an opportunity to join CBSE-affiliated, English medium residential schools that prepare cadets for institutions like the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Indian Naval Academy. Currently, 33 Sainik Schools operate in India, with the Ministry of Defence approving 35 new ones in collaboration with NGOs, private schools, and state governments.
