Amaravati, February 5: Nara Lokesh, IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh, met with Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today to discuss key educational initiatives. Lokesh requested that the All India Education Ministers’ Conclave be hosted in Andhra Pradesh this August and emphasized the state’s efforts to enhance primary education through model schools in every panchayat. He also sought maximum funding for this initiative in the 2025-26 budget.
Lokesh also highlighted the progress under the PM SHRI scheme and pushed for the approval of remaining schools under Phase 3. For higher education, he requested ₹5,684 crore under the Purvodaya scheme to develop Andhra Pradesh as a hub of academic excellence, featuring advanced infrastructure and women’s education facilities. Lokesh expressed appreciation for the Minister’s support in these key areas.
