New Delhi, February 5: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar described voting as the “oxygen for democracy” and the most significant right granted to citizens. He cast his vote for the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections with his spouse, Sudesh, and stressed that democracy thrives when every individual votes freely and judiciously. He added that voting is the foundation of all rights.
Dhankhar emphasized India’s position as the world’s oldest, largest, and most vibrant democracy, where power changes and governance stability are determined through voting. He praised the Election Commission’s arrangements and technological advancements, noting that India’s inclusive voting rights since independence have garnered global recognition.
