New Delhi, February 5: Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw met OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in New Delhi to discuss India’s AI goals. Vaishnaw revealed that OpenAI is eager to collaborate on building the complete AI stack, including GPUs, models, and applications. He also emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of democratizing technology, which was well-received by Altman.
Vaishnaw encouraged the startup community to create innovative AI solutions for challenges in healthcare, education, agriculture, and other sectors. He highlighted India’s successful low-cost space mission and expressed confidence that AI models could be developed affordably through innovation. The minister also announced an upcoming competition to foster AI development.
