New Delhi, February 4, 2025 – A case has been filed against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi following a violent clash between her supporters and the police during a protest in the capital. The demonstration, organized to address alleged irregularities in civic administration, escalated when protesters reportedly attempted to breach barricades, leading to a confrontation with law enforcement. Several police personnel and protesters sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Authorities have charged CM Atishi under various sections related to unlawful assembly and incitement. The Delhi Police stated that while peaceful protests are allowed, any actions disrupting public order or threatening safety will be dealt with firmly. Meanwhile, Atishi’s party has denied the allegations, accusing the police of using excessive force to suppress a democratic demonstration.
