The initiative includes screening programs, vaccination campaigns, and tobacco control measures, aiming to reduce the region’s cancer burden through enhanced healthcare infrastructure and accessibility.
Aligning with WHO’s global cancer control efforts, the strategy emphasizes government policies, awareness programs, and affordable treatment options. WHO has urged regional countries to prioritize cancer prevention and expand access to life-saving interventions, fostering multi-sectoral partnerships to lower cancer mortality rates.
