Musk, through his involvement in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), described the issue as part of a broader problem with U.S. foreign aid spending, prompting renewed scrutiny of USAID’s operations.
In response, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that federal aid programs were under review, with most foreign assistance temporarily suspended except for aid to Israel and Egypt. USAID records show no condom shipments to Gaza in 2023, with the only recorded delivery going to Jordan. Critics argue that Musk’s claims lack evidence and may be politically driven.
