New Delhi, January 30, 2025: The government has introduced a new Credit Guarantee Scheme aimed at supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by covering loans of up to ₹100 crore. This initiative is expected to provide a significant boost to the sector by enabling easier access to credit, promoting business expansion, and fostering economic growth. The scheme offers a robust framework to reduce credit risks for lenders, encouraging them to extend financial support to MSMEs.
The scheme is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the MSME sector, which forms the backbone of the Indian economy. By mitigating risks associated with lending, it aims to empower small businesses, enhance job creation, and drive industrial development. Finance Ministry officials highlighted the scheme’s potential to address liquidity challenges and ensure the sustained growth of MSMEs across various industries.
