Nadda Assures: US-WHO Split Will Not Impact India’s Health Initiatives

New Delhi, January 29, 2025: Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has assured that the United States’ decision to exit the World Health Organization (WHO) will not affect health projects in India. Addressing concerns about the potential impact on collaborative health initiatives, the minister emphasized that India’s health programs are robust and independent.

“India’s health projects and initiatives are well-structured and funded. While international collaboration is valued, our programs are designed to be resilient and self-reliant,” Nadda stated. He further highlighted that India continues to work closely with global partners, including the WHO, on key health challenges such as immunization, disease eradication, and pandemic preparedness, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing efforts.
