AP CM Naidu Criticizes YSRCP’s Financial Crisis, Pledges State’s Economic Revival

Vijayawada, January 28, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu criticized the previous YSRCP government for its financial mismanagement, which, according to him, led the state into a severe fiscal crisis. Citing the AP Fiscal Health Index (FHI) 2025, Naidu revealed that the state’s Debt Sustainability hit zero in FY 2022-23. He highlighted the sharp decline in capital expenditure to just 3.5% of total expenditure, while committed expenditures like salaries and pensions consumed 51% of revenue, limiting room for development. Naidu also pointed out the slowdown in revenue growth and escalating public debt.

Despite these setbacks, Naidu expressed confidence in the government’s ability to restore fiscal stability and vowed to put the state back on track. He outlined investments in sectors like green energy and irrigation, promising 4.1 lakh jobs. Naidu stressed the importance of fiscal discipline and policy-driven development, drawing lessons from global examples like China and Russia. He assured the people that the government would correct past mistakes and work towards a brighter future for the state.
