    AP DGP Warns of Rising Cybercrimes, Proposes Cyber Crime Police Stations in Every District

    Srikakulam, January 28, 2025: Cybercrime has been on the rise in Andhra Pradesh, according to the state’s Director General of Police (DGP), Dwaraka Tirumala Rao. He observed that while other crimes have decreased, cybercrimes have surged, a trend seen across the nation. The DGP mentioned that authorities are considering measures to tackle this increase, with one of the proposed solutions being the establishment of Cyber Crime Police Stations in every district.

    During a media conference in Srikakulam, DGP Tirumala Rao highlighted the importance of utilizing cybercrime experts and raising awareness among the public. He urged people not to send money if they receive calls from unknown individuals, emphasizing that awareness is the key to preventing cybercrime. Additionally, the DGP expressed grave concern over the rising cases of sexual assault on children and the elderly, deeming it an alarming issue that requires immediate attention.
