Anakapalli, January 25, 2025: Nageswara Rao and Lavanya, a couple from Ummalada village in Anakapalli district, have been invited to the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. The invitation came through a draw conducted at the Anakapalli District Collector’s Office under the Suryaghar scheme, recognizing their installation of a solar system at their home.
The couple installed a 5 kW solar plant last year at a cost of ₹3.50 lakh, availing a subsidy of ₹89,000. They shared their joy in achieving zero electricity bills and receiving a monthly cashback of ₹300 to ₹600. Lavanya expressed excitement about being selected and highlighted that all household appliances, including AC and fridge, run on solar energy. The family looks forward to representing their village at the celebrations.
